Living Room Witness Neumann

Frequently Asked Questions

Who are you?
My name is Maren Neumann. I have been the company doctor at Hauni for 20 years, between 1980 and 2000.
How would you describe Kurt A. Körber?
I think Kurt A. Körber had a sense of humor. He had a special talent to tell wonderful stories and laugh about them. Most of the stories he told were about himself. How he would have react if other people had told such stories in his presence, I cannot judge. Kurt A. Körber led a modest life as a private person. He didn't own a huge house or attached great importance to luxurious dining. None of that mattered to him. However, he loved to get the attention of the public and to show his business success. This trait made him a very likable person. The most important charateristic I associate with him, apart from his entrepreneurial success, is the social responsibility towards his employees. Even on my first day at work at Hauni, I noticed that this characteristic shaped the entire company I noticed that this characteristic shaped the entire company and all of its employees, from management to production. This aspect has stayed in my memory until today. Another thing I would like to underline is that Kurt A. Körber was open to innovative ideas and processes, beyond the mainstream. I'm convinced that if Kurt A. Körber were alive today, he would have invited Greta Thunberg to the Bergedorf Round Table.
