Pecs Manufacturing

Frequently Asked Questions

How many machines are you working on?
Körber's machining plant in Pécs, employees work on 31 CNC machining centers, 8 CNC grinding machines and 13 lathes. We are specialized in the production of high-precision and complex parts, whether single pieces or small series. The almost brand new Uniport, for example, has a machining capacity of 12x3x1.5 m, which means we can produce large parts with extreme dimensional accuracy. High-precision workpieces can be produced up to five axes on our machines with eight different heat treatment processes.
Are you using the latest technologies in Pécs?
Our laser welding machine and the 3D scanner are among the most advanced equipment of the Körber Campus in Pécs, representing the current state of the art in the industry. The key to the laser welding technology, unique in Hungary, is that the focal point of the laser beam is only a few tenths of a millimeter in diameter, which allows for a smaller and more concentrated heat input than in conventional welding. With a power of 5 kW, we can weld workpieces weighing up to half a ton with an accuracy of 0.1 mm. This is faster, more accurately and more consistent in quality than conventional methods. The robotic welding arm is designed for easy access to all corners and points to be welded. Thanks to the more concentrated heat input, there is less risk of deformation.
What is a 3D scanner?
Our 3D scanner is also unique in the region. This stand mounted camera system and the connected handheld scanner can scan more than 16 m3 of volume with an accuracy of 67 micrometers, or less than 0.1 millimeter. It makes quality control much quicker: It compares images of complex parts with 3D models and immediateky indicates any discrepancy.

Additional information

High-performance welding with laser technology

In the beginning of 2020, a laser welding machine unique in Hungary, was installed and put to work. With the 5 kW machine, we can weld workpieces weighing half a ton with up to 0.1 mm accuracy, and do it faster, more precisely than the traditional methods, while also providing a consistent quality.
